Hospital Outreach
Our church buys items to put
in what we call a Hospital bag.
We
collect items such as cookies, candy, bottled water, and mouthwash. We
also place in the bag a booklet that tells of miracles that God has
done for people in bad situations.
These are things
that people can use when they are waiting in the ICU waiting rooms
worrying over a loved one.
Anyone who wants to
be a part of this ministry takes 5 or 6 bags to a hospital where God
directs, and then into the ICU waiting rooms.
We show love and
concern for the family, and the critical patient. We offer to pray
with the families for their loved ones.
We give them a bag
(or however many is needed for each family.) to show them that we care
about them, and just want to help them out. We tell them that God also
cares about them.
Since we are
strangers to these people it is amazing to see how God uses a simple
act of kindness to open their hearts. After we leave, we pray that God
will touch their hearts. We also ask God draw them to Himself as they
read the booklet with the salvation message at the end.
This ministry is
not intended to be seen as showing out, nor to increase the size of
our church. This is our way of showing God's love and increasing the
Kingdom of God. |
